The ACHS Band is proud that it's students take an active part in the leadership of the band.  The student leadership is responsible for running many of the rehearsals.   The degree of responsibility is determined by the rank the student achieves.

Drum Majors:  Are responsible for warming up the band, conducting ensemble and large section rehearsals, stretching the band, critiquing marching basics, setting up the field for rehearsals, and ensuring all students have all parts of the uniform before leaving ACHS.

2008 Student Leadership:

Steve Recchia, Rose Puntel, Molly Radford - Marching Coordinator

  Patrick O'Brien-    Head Drum Major

  Toby Fabisiak-    Assistant Drum Major

Section Leaders:  Are responsible for running small group sectionals in music and marching, helping members of section with music and marching, ensuring everyone in the section has all parts of the uniform, and leading sectional warm-ups.

History of Our Band

The Archbishop Carroll Band was formed in 1974.  At the time, the purpose of the band was to provide entertainment during the football games.  Since that time the band has evolved under the direction of Mr. Bill Havrilla,  Mr. Anthony DiLella, and now under Mr. Richard Freda.   The band has grown from it's pep band beginnings to now participating in parades, halftime shows, competitions, pit bands, and liturgy ensembles.
